Other than that I would love to here some ideas on what else could be blocking these monitors from running. I don't know if there could be some kind of airflow disturbance that the PCM doesn't like. We are going to try and locate a new matching intake box. The screws in the top cover don't align with most of the holes on the bottom piece. The only thing I see at the moment is that the air filter box top and bottom don't match. I'll post some snapshots of the O2 sensors from a cold start and the pids files. I couldn't save that data because when the test finished, the pcm shut down and I lost communication. ECT sensor between 176 F (80 C) and 212 F (100 C). Enable Criteria Battery voltage is more than 10.5 V. I have run at least 5 complete drive cycles and no new codes have been posted by the ECM. Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Control System Monitor and Readiness Code NOTE: All readiness codes are cleared when the battery is disconnected or when the ECM/PCM is cleared with the HDS. It appeared to pass that test as I watched tank pressure climb as the vent was closed with the engine and key off. I recently repaired the Secondary Air Injection System on my 2006 Saturn Ion and erased all the codes and now all the I/M monitors have run and report OK except the 'Evap System Monitor'. I even watched the PCM run the engine off natural vacuum evap test but when I look in mode 6 there is no test data stored for any evap test, except purge. I attempted to reflash the PCM but there are no newer calibrations and TIS won't allow me to overwrite with the same calibration. I have tried disconnecting the battery and shorting the cables together. I have watched the enable criteria on the scanner and even when all criteria is met and the O2 monitor is Enabled, it still won't run. I don't think a Permanent code should block the monitor from running. I have run evap purge and seal test and it holds vacuum. The only code in the system is a PERMANET EVAP small leak code P0442. I can clear codes and all the other monitors will complete and pass. I have run the car through several drive cycles from overnight cold soak and we're still stuck at no O2 or EVAP. We replaced the thermostat and MAF sensor to address engine temp and fuel trim issues. About 6-8 month later I noticed my SAI monitor was now going to Complete. One monitor can be in incomplete state to pass in NJ. My 2003 Chevy Silverado has 2 incomplete monitors CAT and EVAP. I went straight to inspection from the shop and I passed inspection. The Evap monitor now completed but SAI still did not. The problem is they can't get it through CT emissions because of incomplete readiness. They diagnosed as an Evap issue, due to history of P0442. This car is from the auction and has a salvage title. *Consult your owner’s manual for specific drive cycle information.I hesitated to post this because I may not get a resolution to it, but I think it's worth some discussion anyway for the future. Decelerate to 20 mph without braking or depressing the clutch.Ħ. Hold at a steady 55 mph for at least three (3) minutes.ĥ. Turn the air conditioning and the rear defrost off and accelerate to 55 mph under moderate and constant acceleration. As soon as the engine starts, idle the engine in drive for 2 1/2 minutes with the air conditioning and the rear defrost on.Ĥ. The ignition key must not be left on prior to the cold start otherwise the heated oxygen sensor may not run.ģ. An uncompleted test will be reported as not ready. Coolant temperatures must be below 122 ☏ and the difference between coolant and air temperatures read by the sensors must be within 11 degrees.Ģ. If a test has been completed, the system status will be reported as ready. The generic drive cycle begins with a cold start. Important! If you choose to use this generic drive cycle, you must obey all traffic laws and drive in a safe manner.ġ. THIS IS A GENERIC DRIVE CYCLE AND IS NOT GUARANTEED TO CLEAR ALL READINESS MONITORS!
